Doodling is good for you!
What gets your creative juices flowing? What ignites that spark of an idea? We are all challenged daily to find solutions to situations we are responsible for in both our personal and work lives.
For instance, this blog is a vehicle I use to share ideas and information. I didn’t set out today thinking about writing a post but in the course of doing some research for a project I came across a 5-minute video about doodling that inspired me. The spunky speaker, Sunni Brown, states that “…doodling has a profound impact on how we process information and solve problems.”
Are you a doodler? I only doodle moderately but I do constantly collect images: numerous types of clippings, concert programs, postcards etc. I also love to capture interesting tidbits with my camera that I cannot resist. I absolutely need visuals in order to think which makes me a visual learner— I really want to see something. Some people are primarily auditory learners (listeners), while still others demand a kinesthetic (doing) approach.
This great little video speaks to removing the stigma of being a doodler. It is a worthwhile activity that’s been getting very bad PR. If you’re a doodler you’ll feel vindicated by this witty and concise presentation. If you employ or work with a doodler—this video is for your benefit as well.
And yes, it contains some great visuals to make the point!
